This extensive project has been financially supported by Lotto Funding of €800,000 and Rapid funding of €220,000. Mallow GAA Management Committee extend their thanks to the financial contributors and the team of volunteers with the vision for Mallow GAA to be the first of its kind to offer such excellence in sports facilities for club and community.

Mallow GAA Management Committee also wish to sincerely thank Mr. John Barry of Castlelands Construction whose generosity of spirit and commitment to both the Club and Community resulted in him providing a finished Complex valued at €18,000,000. The valuation on the original Carhookeal land of €7,000,000 together with the Lotto and Rapid funding means that Mr. Barry's personal contribution to the project approaches €10,000,000.

The previous site at Carhookeal, acquired by Mallow GAA in 1988, served the Club well but had became outdated, with an insufficient number of pitches, requiring use of alternative pitches. The new Complex allows all sections of the Club, including Seniors, Juveniles and Camogie, to train and play in one central hub.

The scale of the development at Carrigoon provides the opportunity for sports participation outside of Mallow GAA, therefore other clubs, schools, local groups and businesses are invited to use the facilities. The bar and function room will also serve an important purpose within Mallow, allowing for events and social occasions for private hire. Local businesses will soon have a new venue for conferences and meetings, with ample car parking and catering as an additional attraction.

For bookings enquiries or fitness room membership applications, please contact the Sports Complex on Tel 022 50757.

Mallow GAA aims to provide first class levels of service to each and everyone using the new Complex and extends a warm welcome to all local people who will use the centre for GAA club activities, improving their health and fitness, socialising or meetings. Mallow GAA aims to develop its strong links with the community, local support for this development will ensure a sustainable community sports facility for all generations.
